Hooray! This blog is one more thing taken care of before we leave on June 12 or 13. We've wanted to share our trips with our friends and family before but never really sat down and figured how to go about it, this seems pretty easy.
Our motor home is in the shop, Camping Connection in Kissimmee, being serviced. The engine has had an oil change, brakes checked and adjusted, new fridge installed, and the carpet has been cleaned. The Onan generator still has to have its 200 hour maintenance and inspection before we can pick it up and take it back to Camping World where we have window awnings waiting to be installed over the rear windows and maybe a brand new washer/dryer. I've thought for a long time about adding a washer and have just about decided to bite the bullet and do it. It's a real boring chore going back and forth to the laundry facilities and now we can wash and dry our clothes as we move on down the road.
Most of the itinerary is planned and reservations made, at least up through August. We should be in Colorado by the first of September and hopefully the weather will be getting cool enough to boondock across the West for a while. We'll see.
This coming week is full of appointments so that we too will be in tip top shape and have all our prescriptions in hand. One more trip to the vet with our greyts, Snoopy to have his stitches removed since this past Wednesday he had 3 more growths removed from his legs plus he had eight more teeth removed. Magic is due for some shots and a general checkup. Samantha has had her share of vet visits since February. This poor little cat is on her 9th live and we just don't know how much longer she can hold on. She has kidney disease and her predicted lives end was April but she's a fighter and her numbers are better now than last year at this time. She sleeps most of the time but is happy to be wherever we are so we won't leave her behind. Who knows, if she makes it until June 12th, she might make it all the way back home again. Keep your fingers crossed!
My lists of lists have started and little piles of take alongs are starting to appear around the house. My feet are getting itchy and this gypsy is ready to hit the road.
